1st Year Love Letter to my Kyler Hayden

Its been month and months since I have blogged last.  I don't know how anyone with 3 kids finds the time to upload pictures yet alone write about them. Perhaps I need to take more time and just make it happen.  It is December now and this month is crazy busy for everyone.  But before I get busy making Christmas happen, I told myself I would take some time today to write a 1 year love letter to my favorite little boy.

Kyler Hayden,

I am a few months behind writing your letter.  I guess that's what happens when you are the third kid. I am proud that I am even getting to it to tell you the truth.  Even more proud that you have a baby book!!! It's not complete but it is started! Not too bad right?

You, Kyler Hayden, are the little light of this family.  You are SUPER outgoing, SO INCREDIBLY busy and so stinkin' cute I can hardly stand it.  I am not sure if its those beautiful blue eyes or your fiery red hair or that smile… its probably all of that and more.  Here are a few things that I absolutely love about you (in no particular order):

1) That smile.  That smile that melts my heart and makes me want to give you everything in the world.
2) Your kisses. The way you put your slobbery mouth on my cheek with Mama asks for a kiss.
3) Those toes. Those stinky stinky little toes. I love them.
4) Your determination. When you want something, you don't stop until you get it.  If you see the remote for the TV or my phone, you will climb everything in this house until its is in your possession.
5) The look on your face when I turn on "Baby Genius" and you hear "Incy Wincy Spider." You immediatly put those little fingers together to climb the water spout and you LOVE to wash the spider out.
6) Your love for books.  You do NOT get this from me. Or your dad. LOL. I love walking by your room and seeing you sitting in your little football chair reading your touch and feel books (Thats not my Tiger, Thats not my Dinosaur, Thats not my Tractor).
7) Your cleanliness.  I can't believe it but you love to dust, sweep and vacuum.  You are so much like me I can't stand it. OCD done right at 16 months old.
8) Your love for your sibling. This melts me every time. I love the way you hug them and when they walk into a room you run for them.  I will always cherish these moments and pray they last until you are all grown.
9) Your patience. Ok, not all of the time but I love how you can sit in your stroller and watch Papa and me workout for an hour at a time and you just sit there.  You are loaded up with carbs and treats the whole time but nevertheless, you are happy and content just watching and waiting.  I love you for giving me this hour to work on myself.
10) Your love for football. I can't take any credit for this but I love love love to watch your expression when you throw the ball.  You actually have a good arm too! I love the little squeal you make when you catch the ball and how you throw your arms in the air when you retrieve it.  Future quarterback in the making.
11) Your gentle spirit.  I adore the way you interact with your siblings and your cousins when they are feeling sad.  You see them crying and instantly come in for a hug.  Could you be any sweeter?
12) Your heart.  I know you are young and that its hard to know who you will become one day.  But I already know that your heart is big and it is so full of love for your family and even for people you hardly know.  Never stop loving with all of your heart.

Kyler there are SO many things I love about you.  I am so proud of you and all of your accomplishments at the fine young age of 16 months.  You have been walking for a few months, you say Mama, Dada, Papa (Papa of course loves this), UP UP UP (your favorite word), and this morning you were trying to put your shoe on and say SH.SH. You understand just about everything we say and believe it or not, you listen… most of the time.  Your dad, brother, sister and I love you more than you will ever know.  Thank you for brining us so much joy and happiness.  We adore you.

PS- PLEASE stop wanting to nurse.  You are officially too old for this.

All my love,
Mom

#thankful

This year we had Thanksgiving at moms house.  I realized how thankful I am that my mom is always willing to host these big, family events.  I am not too much of a cook (although I wish I was more into it).  You can't beat only brining a green salad and enjoying an AMAZING home cooked meal with your family.  Mom, you did it again!

We will be adding to this group at the end of July!
David and Heather are expecting baby #4!!! Congrats!

Pumpkins and Halloween

I think I say this every year in my blog but Halloween was something I was never allowed to celebrate. I really like this time of year but also see why I was so sheltered from it.  There is some DARK stuff out there.  We like to keep it festive with the happy stuff- pumpkins, Co Op parties, trick or treating and dressing up!

Never a dull moment with our crew
