Arizona 2012, nothing short of perfect. We had not been back since Roderick was 8 months old so it was good to see the sun, cactus, and palm trees (Roderick is still on the hunt for palm trees in Washington. If only they could survive in torrential downpour).
First things first...
Packing. Oh and modeling the new Cars swim trunks. I know Roderick. Boys don't usually wear tops. But when you have red hair and pale, white skin, its a must.
Sunglasses? Also a must!!! Do I tell him now or later that they are upside down?
Just getting ready for the Arizona sun... in his long sleeve jammies... and snow boots... because we live in Washington. Even in the spring, it can be COLD.
Getting from point A to point B. Figuring out which gate to go to while pulling your own Cars suitcase is never easy on a toddler. Be glad you don't pack as many shoes as I do Rocky.
Easter. This year we were in Arizona over the Easter holiday. I don't know how the Easter bunny knew how to find us but he managed to make his way to the Arizona desert. Roderick left him a carrot, some milk and a note... always a great host.
The Easter bunny was good to the kids
And Roderick was so excited! So was Maddie :-)
And Sissy Bear
Nothing like taking a few pictures of the kids all ready for church. Don't they look thrilled?
No Roderick, you can't wear your Cars swim trunks and skull flip flops to church on Easter Sunday. Especially when everyone at the service is wearing Burberry. Geeesh Scottsdale...
After church we had brunch and Grandma made her Easter bunny and cross cake. How cute is she? It was almost as good as the lasagna dinner I made that night. :-)
Everyday was full of adventure. From lazy days by the pool, to lunch in Old Scottsdale to the famous Train Park, to the rattle snake serving Rustler's Rooste, we did not skip a beat! Oh and lets not forget about shopping... Tj's and the Rack never seem to disappoint.
TRAIN PARK!!!
This picture makes my heart smile
Roderick's favorite part of shopping- TOYS!!!
He should have been a cowboy
The sun + allergies + too much zyrtec= lots and lots of naps
The Famous Rustler's Rooste
I know, I am so mean. I don't let her sleep with blankets or big stuffed animals. After I saw her cuddling up to her new favorite book, "The Lady with the Alligator Purse," I decided to let her snuggle a SMALL baby. I am a rule follower people.
She's gone country
He's gone... to Mexico?
Mckenna spent a great deal of time playing in her pack n play, in the shade, with toys from 1980. Sure hope her experience was as wonderful as ours! :-)
After 10 days in Arizona, this is what we brought home with us from Arizona. Oh, and the boxes we had shipped are not in the picture. WHOA. What a trip. A BIG thanks to Grandma Chuggles!!! Oh and Grandpa Chuggles- its NEVER the same without you. XOXO
