9 months already?

I'm not sure where the time has gone, but it has all happened so fast! Our Roderick John is already 9 months old.  Yesterday he had his check up and the doc says everything looks great! At this fine young age...

Roderick weighs 18.1 lbs. (skinny like his daddy)
Roderick is 28 inches in length
Roderick can say "ma-ma" and "duh-duh" which I assume is his way of saying daddy
Roderick can pull himself up to standing position (you should see his muscular arms)
Roderick eats just about anything I give him, yogurt is one of his favorite snacks
Roderick loves loves loves to play with toys, he can even shoot a basket in his basket hoop
Roderick can clap his hands
Roderick can mimic the noises we make
Roderick LOVES his family

Dear Roderick John,
It has been such a joy to watch you grow into a wonderful little boy.  I'm looking forward to many great years ahead.  You are so smart and so sweet and I love you more every single day. Thank you for making me so happy.  Love you always!!!
Love,
Mom
XOXO

Go Hawks!

Last week, we went to Jenn's house to watch the first day of the NFL draft. Roderick was all decked out in the proper attire... the Hawks have a young fan!
This is Theckston's adorable nephew.  Could he be any cuter? He walked right up to that mic and sang, "I've got the BOOM BOOM POW." We could not stop laughing.
Just working out... looks like the seat is too high for
 these little legs

As daddy would say, "this is the year that the Hawks will be going to the Superbowl! This is it guys!"

He is SO proud of himself... just look at that grin
His nap should have been a little longer but who can turn down this little face? NOT ME!

Busy Baby = Busy Mom

I can't take my eyes off of this busy body for a second.  If I do, I may find him head first in the toy box, climbing the tables, or trying to escape the only child proofed room in the house.  I sure do have my hands full and he is not even walking yet.  Oh the days ahead...

Happy First Birthday London

BAM! POW! BOOM!

London turned one over the weekend and little did he know, his birthday bash was off the hook. This little Super Hero hosted a party with tons of great food, lots of beer, and a very fun group of people. To top it off, the decor was super cool. I just know Spiderman would have been impressed. Check it out! Kryptonite
Look at that cake!

Our New Neighbor

This past week, Grandpa Senior and Jean moved over from Lake Chelan. We are so happy to have them near us so we can see them all of the time. On Friday night, we invited ourselves over to their new place for a pizza party. How nice of us. I sure hope we didn't wake the neighbors... it was a little loud in there. I'm not sure Grandpa and Jean are used to all of the ruckus but they better get used to it. We won't be slowing down any time soon. Welcome to this side of the mountain guys! Busy Weekend

This weekend was super busy. Starting with Friday, Roderick and I got the chance to meet Noah Andrew Pallat for the very first time. He is such a doll. Noah's mom and I taught at Stevenson together. Her daughter Izzy was also in my third grade class a few years ago. We met at Green Lake, went for a walk and drank coffee together. Roderick has yet another BFF. Little Noah (4 weeks old)

Izzy and Roderick
On Saturday, we spent the whole day moving out of our condo. We are officially residents of the South end (for the time being). We put almost everything we own in storage except for Roderick's bedroom set. We were just too excited to use it!
Not a bad view for an 8 month old eh?
Sunday was a little more emotional. We spent the day on Camano Island doing two very important things. 1) Celebrating my mom's birthday and 2) Celebrating the wonderful life of my Grandpa Aldo who passed away in October. His house closed on Monday and before he passed, he requested his ashes be spread over the bank at sunset. You see, Grandpa had a sense of humor. A few years back, he was working in his beautiful garden and accidentally fell over the cliff. Don't worry, he was not hurt. It was at that time he told my mom he would like to have his ashes spread over the bank... as he had already been there once before and liked the view. We sure do miss our Grandpa and we are SO sad to see his house sell. But as my mom says, the magic is no longer there without him anyway. We love you Grandpa Aldo! We thank God we had you for 80 wonderful years.
