10 months old already?

Roderick turned 10 months old today so we had to celebrate with some great friends. We met Tamsan (The Pompin) and Little Keir in Redmond. We planned to go for a walk in Marymoor Park but the yucky weather kept us indoors.  I'm sorry Ryan and Sydney but Keir is moving in on your little man.  Just look at the chemistry...
Roderick and Keir pushed this toy around the condo together.  It was absolutely precious!
This could be used in their wedding slide show one day... I LOVE this one!
They shared toys all day long... a sign of true love
Keir did not want to leave his side
At 10 months old, Roderick...

Has 2 teeth coming in on the bottom
LOVES reading the "touch and feel" books
Pushes his little walker all around the living room
Can stand alone for about 5 seconds
Can transfer from one table to the next
Says "ma-ma" several times a day (especially when he wants something)
Loves to bounce/dance while on his knees
Smiles at everyone (he is sooo friendly)

Goals for the month:
SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT! I love you Roderick John but its time my love. We will be starting The Sleep Sense Program in the next few weeks. My fingers are crossed!

Hey Hey Hey Marseilles!

If you have not heard of Hey Marseilles, you will very soon.  Their CD, To Travels and Trunks, was released nationally this past weekend and we went to The Tractor to celebrate.  It was a great show! The best part- two of the band members are in our family.  My cousin Patrick plays the trumpet among many other instruments and my brother in law, Colin, plays the drums. Nice work guys! Congrats on all of your success!

Big Boy!!!

Our little love is getting so big so fast.  He has officially grown out of his infant car seat into the next size up.

August 2009
May 2010

And, he has gone from doing the belly crawl
To ALMOST walking
May 2010
My guess is he will be walking before he turns 1 in July

You don't know who that is???

What do you mean you don't know who that is? Are you saying that our seats were horrible? YOU COULD NOT BE MORE CORRECT. Guess that's what happens when you wait to buy tickets to a concert. For $90.00, I thought maybe, just maybe, I could at least see Tim McGraw from afar. So not the case. Next time I will bring binoculars.

Tim McGraw
Lady Antebellum... can you see them way down there???

The good news? The concert was GREAT and we sat right in lovers lane. I could not help but snap a few pics of the set of love birds right in front of us. I've never been into PDA myself but hey, to each their own.  Note to self: Buy concert tickets AS SOON AS THEY GO ON SALE!

Awww, "It's your love, it just does something to me, sends a shock right through me, I can't get enough."

Breakfast and BBQ

To top off the end of a fabulous weekend, Sam, Harv, Roderick and I met Joanna, Brennan, Theckston, and Jonathan at Pesos. It has been a LOOOONG time since I have been there.  It used to be one of my favorite places to go out at night.  Oh my how things change.  I gave Roderick a quick tour of the joint and told him of the many nights we used to go out there.  I warned him not to do the same in 20 years... the headaches are often too much to handle the next morning after a night of Pesos! :-)

Later that evening, we went to Sean and Prita's for a small BBQ with some of their friends.  I'm not sure why Kennedy is not in any of these pictures.  I think it was because any time she came near Finn, he would cry his little eyes out (Poooor Tinkers). Finn, it won't be the last time a girl makes you cry... we can be heartbreakers! :-) Thanks for a fun evening guys!

Set Salon Grand Opening Party

YAY!!! Set Salon is up and running! We are so proud of Theckston for all of her hard work and dedication.  We are so lucky to be friends with such a talented Hairstylist.

On Saturday, Theckston had a party to showcase her new salon.  There were TONS of people there, may of which left with free facials, hair cuts, bronzing, and even a night at the W Hotel (congrats Dani).  I was busy bartending the event... I did a pretty good job if I may say so myself! I should have put out a tip jar! :-)

We ended the night at Wasabi Bistro, our FAVORITE sushi joint in Belltown.  We also had some special visitors! First, Auntie Sam came all the way from Bellingham just to watch Roderick for us.  Now that is dedication (Thanks SO much Sam).  We also had our favorite foreigners come from Canada- Joanna and Brennan.  Pretty cool eh?

Ladies Night

I almost forgot what it was like to get together with my girls without our kids crawling/running all over the place. On Friday night, we had ladies night-  no boys and no babies (well, except for RyRy but she is practically a lady).  It was a night full of laughter, love, and friendship! Love you girls! TTF

Nice Pose Mands! :-)
Sisters in the wine and blue
Sing soft, sing sweet, sing clear
And as we pass the Pi Phi cup, the cup of love and cheer
Drink deep the joys of college days and embrace the bond so true
Pledge eternal loyalty to the wine and silver blue (RyRy making some apps)

PS-

I've got 2 baby teeth coming in!!!

Roderick's First Haircut

It is true. Roderick had his very first haircut yesterday. I just had to take him to the salon to get it done right.  Guess that's what happens when your best friend is a Stylist. I can hardly believe our little 9 month old had more hair that many grown men I know. :-) Needless to say, Roderick was not a happy camper. I think he was a little partial to his every so growing mullet. You know what they say about mullets don't you? "business in the front and party in the back."

We have gone from this (check out that mullet)
To this...
Baby looks good in zebra!
Still not sure what to think
I didn't sign up for this mom!
So over this place
All done... that wasn't so bad!
Thanks Auntie Sarah! I love your new salon!!!

My First Mother's Day!

My very first Mother's Day was just perfect! Thanks to my husband and my son, it will be one that I will always remember.  I woke up  to a delicious breakfast where we ate heart waffles, eggs, and hash browns.  Then, we went to pick out my gift- a glider! Unfortunately, we never got one for the nursery before Roderick was born.  We just didn't have the room for it.  I have been wanting one for a really long time so Harv said we could go pick one out (I wanted to help him with this very important decision :-). Of course, the one we both loved was a little on the pricey side so I've been searching the web for a better deal. Keep your fingers crossed! We ended the evening with a delicious dinner that again, was prepared by my husband.  I'm a pretty lucky lady... don't ya think? Thanks boys! I sure do love ya!  XOXO
